Down on the Farm!

WARNING: Picture Overload!

This weekend the kids and I took a road trip to Smyrna TN! Sylvia was in town and we went in to see her and Kelly and Caroline! It is SO hard to believe that these two girls have been my friends for 17 years, just typing it doesn't even seem possible! I love them and they have been such a huge part of my life since I can remember so it is always fun to get together and hang out!

Kelly took us to a farm that has a fall festival kind of theme with great food, animals, pumpkins, hayrides, toys and candy! We all had so much fun and the kids had a blast and they were all so good, no melt downs at the farm! WOOHOO! Here are a lot of pics from the day!
P, Annie and C right when we got to the farm.

Palmer loving life!

Annie playing in the horse' trough!

Looking at the pigs, Ann Mason loved them!

Kelly and C feeding the chickens

Even the adults can act silly!

The kids were hard at work "planting pumpkin seeds"

They had awesome tables with toys, dinosaurs and lots of dump trucks

LOVE!

LOVE X 2! :)

Annie playing peek a boo with Sylvia

This picture makes me smile and makes me sad. Palmer is getting so big! It is kind of sad that he only has a foot and a half before he is Mommy's height! haha

I am So excited about this picture! Even though the little girls aren't smiling everyone is looking at the camera!!! I think that is all I can ask for!

And finally the pumpkin patch. Ann Mason wanted a "baby" pumpkin and Palmer wanted the biggest pumpkin we could find, I think they both succeeded!

Ok, I feel like a 7 year old!

Ok, so I am officially a 7 year old again! I am SO excited I just secretly ordered a Wii Bundle for the fam! It was an awesome deal and came with 2 remotes, 2 wheels, 2 games, etc... I totally just broke my number 1 rule about buying gifts "close" to Christmas and I KNOW that as a mother I totally should have stashed this one away for the jolly big guy in the red suit but I just couldn't do it!

I also realize that Wii's are so 2009 but the Templeton family likes to wait a little while on the new technology! haha I debated and debated over this purchase but in the end the kids are getting to an age where I think this could be so much fun and entertainment over the winter months! It rained most of the weekend and I caught a glimpse of what winter inside the house is going to be like and this might keep us all sane! I am scared that Tex is going to find me up at 3 am playing Super Mario brothers!
I can't wait to post pics of the kids playing this! Neenie and Pop come in next weekend so we will have fun playing with them, they are Wii pros! Palmer is going to be SO excited, I can't wait!

September 23

September 23rd will always hold a special place in my heart! First off, it is my Nana's birthday. I know she is having a grand celebration in Heaven right now! She LOVED, LOVED her birthdays, the presents, the gifts, the attention! ha! (in a good way) she mainly loved watching her family get together for a reason!

September 23rd is also special because on this day five years ago we found out we were pregnant with Palmer. When I thought of that today and the fact that it has been 5 years, it literally took my breathe away! How in the world has 5 years passed in the blink of an eye. I can remember that moment like it was yesterday. Where I was standing, what I was wearing, when I called my mom, how I felt, etc.... It was the happiest and scariest day of my life!

I can remember going to Olive Garden that night to celebrate Nana's birthday and announcing that I was pregnant to her on her birthday! That is something special I will never forget. I love today and that it makes me think of my Nana and my sweet, sweet boy. Today is a day that I will treasure always!

Pinterest in Real Life

So I have been trying to not only just "re-pin" ideas on my Pinterest boards but actually make some of these amazing recipes and re-create some of these amazing ideas! I had some of my girlfriends in this weekend and I made this dessert! OMG! Chocolate Chip cookie dough on bottom, layer of oreos and then brownie mix on top of that! Bake at 350 for 45 minutes and serve with ice cream and YUMMY!!! It was sooo good and easy, my kind of recipe!

I also got really crafty and have been wanting a table runner for our new table. I can't find one that I like and most of them are all one color. I lucked out at Hobby Lobby and found some awesome fabric on sale for $4 a yard!!! I bought about 4 yards of it and some stitch witchery (which is a no-sew) material that you iron on and two tassels and got to work! I LOVE the way it turned out and it was super easy and less than $10!

A view from the middle of the table

The sides I did in a triangle and then the tassel hangs down!

I have a lot of white and royal blue tuile right now with two wooden letters that say UK!! I just need my wreath base and I am going to bust out a UK wreath in no time!!!

I am contemplating making Ann Masons halloween outfit, I have seen a lot of cute ideas. That might be more of an undertaking than I am ready for! :) I LOVE being crafty but crafting costs money or at least the kind I do! haha Hopefully more to come!

One of the Reasons

We love our house in Owensboro! There is SO much we want to do with it but we are definitely viewing it as a long term project and right now we are just enjoying it, wallpapered bathrooms and all :) It really isn't that bad, some things need updated but they really don't bother me, which is surprising! I think because I know we will hopefully live in this house a long time I don't mind to wait!

So anyways... One of the reasons we LOVE our house in the boro is because we can build bonfires and make SMORES in our very own backyard! How cool is that? I thought Tex was joking the first time he told me but he was serious we can really have fires in our yard and we can really roast marshmellows instead of microwaving them! I think I was just as excited as the kiddos. This weekend we tried it out when our friends Kelly and her daughter Caroline came in. The kids loved it and the fire kept going all night for us to sit out by even after the kids went to sleep, it was so fun!
Ann Mason working really hard at getting the right branches together for the fire!

I mean really, really hard! I think she is even trying to rub sticks together to make her own fire!

She must have gotten a stick she liked!

Love this pic, C is in her underwear and Palmer is trying to help her out and holding her hands. Tex looks like he is trying to delegate work and no one is listening! haha

Everyone at work on the burn pile!

Love this! Palmer telling C how to find the right stick.

The start of the fire :) I swear it got bigger and bigger as the night went on! It was great for roasting marshmellows! Can't wait to do it again especially with the cooler weather coming! Bring on the Fall!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 7 year Anniversary!!!

Tex and I had our 7 year anniversary on Saturday. We didn't "celebrate" in your typical way with dinner, flowers, etc... but we celebrated in our way with our family and friends. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for my husband! We have been thru so many things good and bad over the last (13 years all together!) We have ALWAYS come out on the other side and for that I am eternally grateful! Life has blessed us beyond measure even at our toughest times God has always made sure our needs were met and much more.

I am so blessed to have married my best friend who is always my biggest fan. I have watch him grown into an amazing man who is such a giving husband and an amazing father, son, brother and friend! Our lives have changed so much even in the past year but I am SO excited about where we are in our lives and the path that God is choosing for us. It has been hard but so worth it! Thru it all we have always remained a team!

I love you and thanks for being my best friend!

It's Been a Month, Already?

So today marks a month of living in Owensboro! Half of me feels like it was just yesterday we drove up here and another half of me feels like we have been here for a year! I have to admit I am still homesick but with each day I am starting to become more and more adjusted and I am definitely finding there are perks to living in a smaller city!
1. I can pretty much get anywhere in less than 10 minutes
2. I can call my hairstylist and be in, in 2 days!
3. Doctors call you in prescriptions without having to go in and see them
You get the point... :) I am trying to stay on the positive side!
We still LOVE our house. Each weekend it seems like we tackle a few more projects and it is definitely starting to feel like home and we are definitely starting to enjoy all of it!

I am still out a camera so I have been using my camera phone which is terrible but will have to work for now! Here are some random things we have been up to this week!
Disclaimer: This is not tex :) but this is our new riding lawn mower! Oddly enough my new boss had a brand new riding lawn mower that they only used 3 times sitting in her garage and we were able to get a great deal on it! Tex brought it home the other night and apparently while I was working late last night Tex showed off his mowing skills by mowing a few strips of grass for the kids while they sat on the porch and clapped... I try not to ask too many questions about what happens when I am gone :)

We bough furniture and a rug for our sun room. Our sun room has now officially become our families "room" I have a feeling this is where we will spend 90% of our time. It is cozy and we love it! It is nice to have two tv rooms for the kiddos and adults but somehow we still manage to pack in this one room. We hadn't planned on getting anything for this room but we got an awesome deal on some furniture that will be perfect for having small kids and something that can grow with us but we won't be devastated if gets pretty worn down! I think Palmer is the most excited. We got a recliner ( I have NEVER had a recliner) I don't particularly like the looks of them but man, it is SO comfy!

Palmer and Cannon (on the left) have gotten a lot of quality time together! They have become big buds! We also got to see ava and eme this weekend too! The kids are totally in love with everything Owensboro!

Kathy was nice enough to have a birthday dinner for me complete with grilled pork chops, homemade mac n cheese, homemade twice baked potatoes, yeast rolls and the best ever homemade red velvet cake!!! YUM!!! This cake was a fun decoy so the kids could sing and blow out candles with me!

This weekend should be a lot of fun! Kelly and Caroline are coming from Nashville to visit for the day on Saturday, Palmer starts his soccer league and has two games on Saturday and Sunday and Tex and I celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary! I am just praying everyone stays healthy and we can enjoy the weekend :)

No CRIBS in our CRIB!

Well, we had another big milestone in the Templeton household. Ann Mason graduated to a "big girl" bed. I am seriously having a HARD time with this! I don't have any cribs in my house anymore and it hurts my heart. When did this little spitfire get so big and independent? We bought her bed yesterday and she LOVES it (so does Molly!)
She fell right to sleep last night and I just would go in there every 10 minutes and look at her little body in this big bed. I wanted so badly to crawl in there with her but she seemed to be doing just fine. :( She slept all night and didn't want to wake up for school! I thought no diapers were bad but walking down the hall and seeing my babies rooms transform into big kids room is a heartbreaker!
Ann Mason and Molly LOVING the new bed!

Pinterest comes to Life!

So I think I have mentioned how much I LOVE Pinterest I have hundreds of things saved and hundreds of DIY projects I want to do. I figured I would start easy and work my way up. Since I want fall to get here I thought I would make a wreath to hurry it up!

Here was my inspiration from Pinterest!

Here is the one I made (sorry for the poor quality pic) They are a little different but I think it turned out cute. I think it is cuter in person  than in the picture! For my first one I was excited. I am planning on doing a blue and white one with wooden UK letters! It was fun making it and EASY and that is the main thing! Can't wait to try more of the awesome ideas!
 Happy Crafting~

Diva in the Making!

I had to SHARE!  I thought this was so cute and hilarious! As if Ann Mason needs any more reason to be sassy I decided to order this. I haven't seen this quote before which is rare because I am the queen of looking for quotes. It was too cute not to pass up!
It is kind of hard to read on this picture... I get to pick out the colors to match her room but the quote says "We can't all be princess someone has to sit and clap as we go by!" haha I can't help it, I think it is too cute!
